Horses and Headspace:
an exercise in mindfulness

Need a break from daily stress?

Join us for weekly one hour session in our indoor or outdoor arena (weather permitting) where we will focus on social, emotional and cognitive growth through instructor lead exercises to promote mindfulness while grooming, leading and interacting with program horses and/or ponies. Research supports the positive outcomes generated through the development of effective communication skills with horses. These sentient beings read human body language, sense our emotional states and mirror back to us with reflections of our own unconscious behaviors and patterns. Horsemanship demands we remain present, come practice with us!

Horsemanship for teens and adolescents

Welcome to a judgement-free zone! Horses do not care about your size, shape, clothing, gender, sexual orientation or your grades at school. Horses do not care if you can sing, dance or play sports. Horses have no expectations for us but instead help us understand how it feels to connect at the heart level with another sentient being.

YOU are welcome here.

Join us for an 8-week session that will use equine-assisted learning ground-work techniques to explore confidence, communication, resilience, achievement, teamwork and relationships. Participants will engage in a variety of activities including grooming, observing and working with horses in games and obstacle courses as horsemanship skills increase. This is ground work only program, no riding or previous horse skills needed!

New 8-week sessions begin monthly and sessions are held rain or shine in our indoor riding arena. Participate based on a flexible schedule of afternoons, evenings or weekends. Group or individual sessions are available. Click here or email flyingchangefoundationpa@gmail.com.

Seniors at Flying Change Foundation:
Coffee and Critters

Let’s fight loneliness and isolation by coming together!

Join us each Wednesday morning as we come together to share coffee, donuts and discussion! Story-telling while we observe nature, our horses and farm animals will be encouraged.  FCF, Inc. will provide a safe space for seniors from a variety of backgrounds to come together, find community, and gain support. Seniors will be offered different types of passive or guided interactions with horses and nature. Interactions will include passive elements (i.e., observing herd dynamics of horses, observing wildlife) to other more indepth interactions such as petting or grooming.

Sign up by Monday for our Wednesday morning groups.

Promoting Literacy at Flying Change Foundation, Inc.
Book Buddies with Butter

Book Buddies with Butter (BBB Club) is a fun way to engage early or even not yet readers through our EAL program to support literacy. Butter is a small, super fuzzy and friendly pony who loves nothing more than to listen to a good story! EAL with Butter offers a supportive, encouraging and non-judgment environment for early or struggling readers and also gets not readers excited about books!

BBB Club members can visit Butter at the farm and share their favorite story or two, follow Butter and her adventures on Instagram or sign in for live ZOOM reads when the weather or travel doesn’t allow for a farm visit. Join the club here [link] and stay tuned for in-person visits of Butter to a library near you!

Auditing and trial memberships available; great activity for mom/dad and me – on site at our farm or remote via video connection!
